I didn’t know Phil that well. I only met him a couple of times. The times I did meet him though, he left a lasting impact on me. One of those happy go lucky, why not, type fellas.
A trip down to watch Spurs away with Sean. 20 minutes in Sean gets a text. It’s phil. Asking for his seat number. Phil, without telling Sean, has jumped on a train down and found a seat in the spurs end as close to the away fans as he can. He’s spotted Sean and is giving him dogs abuse. All the spurs fands round him start joining in. No clue who or what they shouting at. I ended up at a wedding on the strand in an adidas trackie, one of those days that will forever stick with me, but for Phil it just seemed like another day. A fella who fell into situations and stories. A fella who embraced excitement. It rubbed off on me and it’s something I’ve never got over.
Left me in stitches and stuck with me ever since. Very sorry to here about his passing and all of my thought are with his family and everyone close to him.
